    Interesting gravemarker

I just found this at my local Friedhof on Volkstrauertag.

Very interesting marker with the Infanteriesturmabzeichen.

Körner is not listed on the Volksbund Website.

Very interesting, a post-war marker or has it been de-nazified?

It's a wooden marker but has been there for a number of years....probably not since 1941....so probably not from the time period. Since it is in a relatively well traveled spot of the Leipziger Friedhof...I cannot imagine that it survived the SED time.

            Hi Ian,

            that surprised me also.

It Looks like the marker never had a Hakenkreuz and since it is in Leipzi g(East Germany...or Mitteldeutschland), it is at ist oldest 25 years old. There is a Little tree growing through the grave already.

I am curious so will contact the Friedhofdirektion to find out more!

            Erich
