Name of Kdr. of Gren. Regt. 854 (344.ID) in Normandy ?

I am looking for the name of the chief of Grenadier Regiment 854 between september 42 and august 44.
Does anybody know ? Thanks for your help.

Here my state of information:

Oberst Hans Lott was Commander of the GR 854 of 344.ID that right.

...

In Oktober he was cdr. regiment "Lott" part of Div. Castorf together with regiment "Wegelein".
In November he was the Commander of GR 1057.

But the 344.ID was in November 1944 rebuild out of some units to GR 1057 and 1058.
Later in dec. the regiments were renumbered to 854 and 855. The third regiment was the GR 832. This one was built from GR 857 and that was build from the staff 855, II./854 and II./558. The last one was part of 331.ID.

And the commander of GR 558 was ....... Oberst Hans Lott. (This was before Oktober 1944.)

Maybe he was never in the cdr. of GR 854 during normandy campagne. But I will see his personal case in the BAMA in Freiburg this year.

It's indeed possible that H. Lott was not with 344.ID in Normandy. But I am surprised about the fact you wrote that he was GR 558' Kdr. (in october ?). Indeed, GR 558 didn't exist any more after september (as all the 331.ID) and his first chief was Oberst von Dobeneck.
Does it mean than Lott take the command of rest of GR 558 who escaped from Falaise pocket after v. Dobeneck failure ? As you know perhaps, remains of 344.ID were subordinated to 331.ID after 23 august 44 : they were then called "Kampfgruppe Martin" (Kdr. of GR 855).
I wait gladly for further informations. Thanks.

My informations are only from october 44 to january 45 about Oberst Hans Lott.

During october he was leader of one Walküre unit of Div. 172 from Wehrkreis XII.

What about september or earlier I don´t know. That he was leader of GR 558 is from LdW http://http://www.lexikon-der-wehrma...nter/GR558.htm

The CO was, you know, Hauptmann Frerich van Lessen.
