Help with SS feldpost & soldier

    Help with SS feldpost & soldier

    Hello,

    I just acquired this gas canister with soldier name and feldpost. I plugged in the feldpost, but is this correct as it list the feldpost # 11150 to SS-Leibstandante Adolf Hitler division? Can someone help me to verify this feldpost and soldier's name, Ludermann Gunter on his military career to this unit please? Also there is another painted item on top of canister lid "VBT 823" and the number 546 painted on the side of the canister and on the gas mask. I don't know what that would mean a sub group or something of the unit? Any thoughts?
    Any help would be greatly appreciate on this subject. I'll list some pics, thanks again, John

        For what it's worth, the period painted name and Feldpost number inside does not look period to me.

          Depending on the date....those in brackets are between those dates....unless an exact date is stated not in brackets:

            Looking at the "E" suffix in the Feldpost number, it seems clear to me that this was written with a paint marker.

              CWP and Ian I appreciate all of your input on this canister. I'm going to place it under equipment for more opinions on originality. As we all know SS and Waffen-SS are widely reproduced,so it's good to ask opinions on the forum from members.
              Right now I was mostly curious about the name and feldpost information which may or may not be original to canister now.
