    Who are these Uboat officers??

I have for a long time trying to find out who these uboat (?) officers are! A Cold beer for the one that finds out the name on the back!

Only a 5 Euro photo but still a mystery....

The text on the back says in German:
"Your son after his 1st combat trip (feindfahrt) with his best friend, KL (Kapitänleutnant) ????? ?????"

    July -43

It very much looks like Graf Treuberg, so it is most likely Rupprecht Fischler Graf von Treuberg. In July 1943 he was still a Leutnant zur See and during that time 1. Wachoffizier on U-214. He was killed in action on the 24th of August 1944 as Kommandant of U-445.

Thank you very much, i think you are right!! The letters before the Name Treuberg should be Lt and not Kl as i thought. If you look when Treuberg got promoted then it fits, he was Lt.z.See in july -43.
The other officer, who wrote the text on the back, could then be Lt.z.See d.R. Hans Beckmann who at that time was IIWO on U-214, in July he had made his first Feindfahrt together with Treuberg.

Or is is an officer from Another boat. Would you guess which on of the officers that is Treuberg?

Thanks again, next time i am in Amsterdam you have a Cold beer on me!

          Petrus,

Comparing your photo with photos of U-445, it is my humble opinion that Rupprecht Fischler Graf von Treuberg is the guy at the left.

          Best regards

Don't worry Petrus, I am not after a free beer, surely not in Amsterdamned and clearly not from a brand that starts its name with the same H as horse, although both do produce the same liquid product.

I was actually thinking about the man on the right to be him. Graf von Treuberg is the second from the left on the photograph below, whilst 2. Wachoffizier on U-214. It's hard to tell as both men look a bit alike, but the person on the right has quite a broader chin, which Graf von Treuberg also has on the photograph.
