    mystery unit puzzle

not much to gain here, but maybe someone has a sixth sense...
i have a small pic lot of an artillery unit taken between 1942-1944. earliest images show them equipped with s. IG. 33, demag 1to
and krupp protzen. 1943 the united seems to have been regrouped/refitted with le. FH. 18/40 and (you guessed it) RSO´s as towing
vehicle. the Raupenschlepper feature an unknown (at least to me) unit insignia, that slightly resembles the TKZ of 106.I.D. (pic 1).
One of the RSO´s additionally has an “M” lettering on the right door (pic3). the best evidence, a 1942 grave marker (pic 3) is
sadly almost illegible. the only things i could positively decipher were “II (..) .. 69”. maybe it´s “II (I.?) A.R. 69”, although the "A"
looks more like an "S", and the second letter in bracket might be an "M". what sense would the 2 letters in brackets make anyway?
    anyone have a vision?
thankful for any kind of enlightenment,
    werner

The only thing I can think of would be an "M" would indicate 3rd Bty of the 4th Arty Bn, if they had 4 Bn's.
You will have to wait for Akira to drop in he will know what they mean

Well, for the grave marker how about. 11. (sIG) S.R. 69 ?

Tessin records Schützen Rgt. 69 as having an 11. sIG kompanie at around this time . The unit was part of the 10 Panzer Division, 4 Panzer Armee in Feb. 42.

            thanks simon,
according to online sources S.R. 69 was transformed into Panzergrenadier-Regiment 69 in july ´42 and wiped out in
Tunis 5/43 and never raised again. ???
maybe the s.I.G. Kompanie had been attached to another unit before or simpy the owner of the pics was transferred
to the unknown unit fond of rectangular sunrises...

Well as you know, it wasn't uncommon for transferring units to leave behind some elements and equipment.

"M" should mean Munition, like "J" means Instandsetzung.
