HI everyone,
I am currently researching the fighting around the Stronghold Smolkov during the Opava Operations; specifically around the dates of April 20th - 23rd 1945 involving the 4th Gebirgsjager Division within the 1st Panzer Army. This was specifically in the area of the town of Háj ve Slezsku.
There is a very good book on the Opava Operation written by Czech veterans named " Ostravsko-opavská operace 1945 v paměti českých veteránů " (Opava Operations 1945) published in 2013. Does anyone know if there is an English edition of the book as the only editions I can locate are in Czech language.
If anyone can help with any information they may have relating to the fighting around the stronghold Smolkov (Hrabinerberg) in the area of the town of Háj ve Slezsku I would be most grateful. I do have a black and white map of the operation but can't follow it as its in Russian.
