    Aufklärungsabteilung 24 - Füsilier Btl. 24

    Bonjour,

currently I am working about the history of Aufklärungsabteilung 24 / Füs.Btl. 24 during the Russian offensive in January 1944 in Krasny-Bor. Can any one tell who was commander of the unit at that time? Von Stein was already sent to another unit and Bruno Richter was later the commander. For selection are IMO Wass (ß) man; Roland Jenisch, John and Zschiegner. Or was it someone else?

You can read in the Division history by a total failure of the commander of that unit. Apparently he was demoted later.

Would be grateful about any other names of the soldiers who served in this unit.

    Thanks in advance

According to Wegmann u. Zweng it was:

      01.03.1943: Rittmeister von Stein
      01.01.1944: Rittmeister d.R. Ernst Wassmann
      Undated - : Hautpmann Ißermann
      20.04.1944: Rittmeister Lünser

        Hi Christian,

you are working on history of Füsilier Btl. 24.

My father was for about two years with AA 24/ FB 24.
He was captured on 25.01.1944 at Krassnij Bor and than for six years POW.

Do you have more information about FB 24 than division history 24?

        Regards Dieter

          Hello !

Perhaps the attached report is of interest (from a book by Pulkowski, on Kav.Rgt. 10).

I'll also attach a list of Kommandeure from that book, but I am not sure, whether
the entry for Rittmeister Lünser in 1943/44 is correct.

According to Scherzer, Maj. Stein was followed by Rittmeister Wassmann, who was replaced by
Major Klinke (as Führer) at some time before March 44, again followed by Rittm. Lünser in May.
Scherzer mentions Issermann as Führer for a few weeks in August 44, followed by Richter.
This would be in general agreement with the report and also the data posted by Ian.

          Best regards,
