    Feldpost number on a helmet

    Hi you guys,

I was referred here by one a helpful member on the headgear board. I posted pics and the story of my helmet on that forum and I'd like to find out about the soldier it belonged to. Hopefully, someone can tell me the story about this helmet my father brought back from the war. I will try to attach a pic but if it doesn't work, here's the information:

    Gefr. Ising L-10651

It appears to be a Heer helmet. It was picked up in Bremerhaven in June, 1945.

Any information about the soldier who owned would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

That's amazing information and brings up a lot more questions for me of course.
Just the tip of the iceberg perhaps.
