    Das Reich information

I am looking for information on the W-SS unit Das Reich. Any good books, articles, websites available? Is the information on Wikipedia accurate?

Wikipedia is great if you are lazy or do not actually want to bother reading.

          My suggested reading list:

Thanks! Wikipedia emphasizes war crimes, but I was to know about Das Reich's strategical importance in WW2.

"Operation Citadel'(kursk and orel, the greatest Tank Battle of the Second World War) covers their russian front activities...the author is Janusz Piekalkiewicz it is actual daily reports of the campaign, covers all battles, and where the Das Reich participated in the larger schee of things...but regarding after they pulled out and went to france and normandy...it doesn't cover after , nor prior...you may have to concentrate on certain years...unless one book out there covers it all, but then It would be just in general....Mark Yergers book on the German Cross winners of the ss, and polizei, tells all kinds of individual experiences for each man...so I suggest you buy all his books as you are able...and I don't know of just one book written ...that can go into such detail as Mr. Yergers labors of love, as that's what his books are ....hope it helps as I agree with the others who endorse Marks works . (Good luck).

I've written a half dozen books on "Das Reich" and its officers. Wikapedia is for morons, you'd get more accurate data watching cartoons.

                start with these

                http://www.bender-publishing.com/Ger...GoldVol-1.html

                http://www.bender-publishing.com/Ger...GoldVol-2.html

Far more data on other aspects of the division beyond the tile subject

                Mark C. Yerger
