First CCCs bronze awarded by LSSAH –PzGrenRgt.2

    LSSAH - Panzergrenadier Regiment 2

I’m trying to ascertain the earliest possible award date of the CCC in the above unit.

The below document, dated April 12, 1943, states that eligible recipient names for the on Dec. 7, 1942 introduced CCC should be submitted by April 20, 1943.
From that we can establish with certainty that no CCC were awarded before April 20, 1943.

However, for April 20, 1943 I can only find several hundred Iron Crosses 1st and second class and a couple hundred Panzerkampfabzeichen in bronze awarded by LSSAH PzGrenRgt.2

The earliest document that I can find at the National Archives of CCC bronze awarded by LSSAH –PzGrenRgt.2 is dated September 1, 1943.

This list shows 296 CCC in bronze awarded to soldiers of LSSAH – PzGrenRgt.2 on Sept. 1, 1943.

    My question:
Is September 1, 1943 the earliest awarding date of the CCC bronze by LSSAH –PzGrenRgt.2
    - or were there CCC awarded by LSSAH –PzGrenRgt.2 between April 20 and September 1, 1943.

    .

Here is the last page (I don't want to show them all here).

In one day a single Regiment awarded 296 CCC in bronze!

Could this be the first awarding of the CCC in this Regiment?

Hi N, I believe 9/43 would have been the 1st awarding of the CCC .That why this

is so problematic. The combination of Kharkov & Kursk would account for the days

required for the awarding in Sept.43.

        Any other thoughts?

Perhaps, some dates of 1943 Soldbuch entries or CCC documents from this unit so we can compare award dates.

        Any contribution is welcome!

I had once a grouping from 2./AA/LAH. The doc for the CCC in bronce was dated 30.08.43.

            Heinrich, thank you!

This is very helpful and fits the list from September 01, 1943.

Do you remember the name of the man?
