I recently obtained a helmet with the liner inscription "Warhtm. Titze". I assume Titze to be a last name, but can anyone helmet me with the first word? Is this a rank? abbreviated first name?

So that r is actually a c. Assuming its not a police lid, he was artillery, signals or possibly mounted/cavalry
