Help with a name and unit

Gents,

Can you help me translate this:

Hptm K. Halbich
1/PZ GR Rgt 2 HG

I think the Hptm is for Hauptmann and the next line is
1st Panzer Grenadier Regiment 2 Hermann Goring.

The above is located on the back of a Luftwaffe Helmet.
Once I can get a better read on it I will start looking to find
out who he was.

Let me know if I am on or off the mark.

if the 1 is in roman numerals , ie. I it means battalion, if it's 1 then it's the 1st company

so, 1st company, Panzergrenadier Regiment 2 Hermann Göring.

if it is a 1 then a Hauptmann can only be the kompanie chef, ie. company commander.

Thanks for the information and here is a picture of the helmet.
Based on your insight it should be 1st Company. How would I go
about trying to find out who he was? I have done some searching on the
internet but nothing.

Maybe Herrman Göring division 2. regiment 1st company

The correct name is "K. Hälbich " (K. Haelbich).
