Wehrpass Entry Stalingrad ?

Hi I have a replacement wehrpass to Friedrich Zooh. An entry on page 47 states his original was lost due to enemy action on 26/3/45.

The wehrpass was not filled in very well. The only thing on page 12 is "1/6/40-6/8/40 , 1. Inf. Ers. Batl 60 (schtz. ers.) Danzig". A wound badge in black is entered, dated 20/10/1942. Pages 1-11 are filled in properly.

Can anyone identify the name and location? I know not Stalingrad but in the vicinity?

I am guessing he was with the 16th Infantry Division(mot). Thanks

Looks like Isakovo (Serbia) to me

Makes sense. Some people who came from Danzig (e.g. police, etc.) ended up fighting in the Balkans (against Tito's partisans).

Yaroslavskaya on August 16, 1942

The 16th Infantry Division (mot) is operating in the Caucasus in August of 1942. It passed through Yaroslavskaya on August 16, 1942.

German spelling is Isakowo, that is what it says.

Yes you are right Chris, I was just looking at any other possibilities.

I will probably never know much more about this guy. It is common for several villages to have the same name in eastern Europe. I found that out while researching my grandfathers family , volkdeutche from Russia.
