would this sequence of service/deployment for an SS man be possible?

Out of a large lot of books I had purchased was a post war book titled "Waffen SS im Einsatz". Interestingly someone had put down a sequence of service/locations/units with which I assumed they may have served. It is an SS man by the name of Erwin Mahlzahn and some of he units in which he served were SS Panzerjäger units, SS Das Reich division, SS Regiment Deutschland and SS Polizei Division.

I'm by far no expert on the SS or their troop movements but wonder if anyone here could tell if the sequence, dates and units listed would actually make sense or if someone just scribbled something mildly impressive in the book to enhance its potential resale value? Any help would be appreciated. I intend to sell this book on the e-stand and wouldn't want someone to be misled in the event this is total BS. Thanks.

It all looks ok, as with many veterans they get their unit designations a little mixed up.

the ss-panzerjäger entries refer to his ersatz depot training units. SS-Polizei Rgt. 7 is in fact SS-Panzergrenadier Rgt.7 of the Polizei division.

Basically you can summarise his front unit service as 5 months with Das Reich in 1944 and 2 months with the Polizei Division. The rest is training and hospitals\convalesence

Thanks very much for the information Simon. At least now I know the entries could be legit.
