    Road Sign panel GR. RGT. 61 (and more)

    Hello all...a dear friend of mine found this very interesting (I guess) road sign panel printed with:

    - on the front: GR.RGT.61 and some tactical emblems;

    - on the back: Feldlazarett 5;

    any infos, suggestions and comments will be welcome...

    thanks to all in advance

    Alessio

          Ciao Alessio, come va?
          Nice sign, where did your friend find it?
          I guess not here in Italy, as those units as far as I know never saw action over here

          The 61 Grenadier Regiment belonged to the 7. Infanterie Division and fought for all the war on the russian front.
          I don't know where the Feldlazarett 5 operated but I didn't find it in the list of german units deployed in Italy.

            Hello Manuel thanks for your post here...the panel was found in Germany and this confirms the accuracy of your information...
            any guess about its double use?

            Ciao

              I think it was rather normal to use both sides of a panel when there was shortage of materials. Some years ago I dug a small us-army chart (of the kind to be placed on vehicles) that bore writings on both sides too.
              It would be interesting to find out where the hospital operated and see if sometime it was close to the Gren. Regt. 61
