    Major in Pionier-Ersatz-Bataillon 7

Not sure if that's the correct place for it, so feel free to move it if needed.

Well, I search for a name of a major in Pionier-Ersatz-Bataillon 7 which was in the 157th Reserve Division.

I don't really know where to find that info. Already tried to see on internet but I can't find that. Any help ?

The unit is more complicated and the reserve Division became a GJ Division in 1945-

    http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/.../PiErsBat7.htm

The 7th became part of other units in the latter part of the War. In 1943 there was a Major d.R. Barth listed as the commander. After that Maj. D.R Fehlhammer and finally Major Rudeloff after 10-11-43. Earlier ciorca 1939 the commanders are listed as Schweier ad Labermeier in 1940, both Hauptmanns. Dr. Fehlhammer was a commander in 1942 as a Hauptmann d. R.

      Ok thanks !

This is also the page I found but I don't speak german and the translator doesn't give a comprehensive one.

Do you think it's possible to get more info about Dr. Fehlhammer ?

Reserve officers are difficult to find information on. I would contact a professional researcher to see if there are service files in the US by chance for him-

Hermann Wilhelm Fehlhammer, born 31 Mach 1894 in Spesbach in the Bavarian Palatinate, now part of the Saarland.

He is a reserve officer, so there won't be a Wehrmacht personnel file. There may be an index card with his wartime assignments.

Since he was a Bavarian, his World War I service record can be found on Ancestry.com in the Bavarian personnel records. He was an active lieutenant in the 4. bayer. Pionier-Bataillon.

Blaise, have you seen this page in French? http://www.39-45.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=19181

Thanks to both of you !

Well the informations about Fehlhammer is a bit contradictory :
Here, it says he was in the bataillon from .../42 (pretty sure it's october 42) to 10/11/43 and on the french page it says 10/42 to 10/44...

But well, that's not the most important for me, even if it's great to know, my main point is I would like to know where he was before arriving in it. So, just before when he was a Hauptmann.
