    Gentlemen,

    Who is this Kaptlt. Volberts who won the German Cross In Gold on May 10,1945 as Kommandant of "M-294" which was part of the 25th Minesuchflottille? Got the iinformation from ww2awards.com.

    Mr. Hsiao:

    Just a factiod: Kapitänleutnant Volberts was appointed as the "acting" flotilla chief of 25. Minensuchflottille from June to July 1944.

    Given his location and fact he commanded M 294 at the end of the war, I would be willing to bet he was compelled to continue to serve with the GMSA's Norway Division for awhile.

    Just thinking out loud and perhaps giving you an avenue to research.
