Have you any information about 14.SchiffStammabteilung and 1.Baulehrkompagnie (U) kriegsschiffbaulerabteilung U=Boote Nordsee ?

1.Baulehrkompanie (U) kriegsschiffbaulehrabteilung is basically the construction demonstration unit for a new U-Boat... No doubt it was the unit for guys to familiarise themselves with U-856 before commissioning, for trials etc.

U-856 was commissioned the day after your guy was transferred to it.

The 14. Schiffstammabteilung was a training unit for Kriegsmarine recruits, located in Breda, NL.
