Hi guys,
Would like to know somewhat more about the 9. Flak Division operations in late 1944 - early 1945.
I have a Luftwaffe Soldbuch from a 2cm Flak Geschützfuhrer who was attached to this 9. Flak-Division from september 1944 untill the surrender. He was issued a P08, K98, and 2 stielhandgranate in march 1945.
I know they have been active in the Metz (8-9.44), Saarbrücken Area (9-10.44), Kaiserslautern (12.44), Germersheim (3.45), Stuttgart (4.45) and Goppingen (4.45) and that they surrenred in Rosemheim (5.45), but I do not really have more details. Were they engaged in man to man fighting, or did they still use this unit as just an anti-aircraft unit?
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance.
