    KIA helmet

I have a Heer M40 helmet that was struck by a bullet & the liner rotted out. I would like to find out where the owner is buried. The name K.H. Boda is painted in the skirt. I would appreciate any help with the research.
    Thanks, Stephen

Regrettably, no 'K.H. Boda' or variant on Volksbund site. Are you certain of the surname?

      KIA helmet

      Hi MJC,
Thanks for the help. It is definitely Boda but perhaps a fence post job by a GI. The inside of the dome is not a mess as I would expect from a shot like this. Is it possible to determine if someone with that name served in the German army?
      Thanks, Stephen

Boda is certainly a valid surname, K.H. has me thinking Karl-Heinz, or something similar.

i suppose you could try the Deutsche dienststelle

          Helmet K H Boda

          Hi Stephen

I just noticed your thread of a couple of years ago. I now seem to have the same helmet and was wondering were you first got it and when you sold it? I got it in Elst, in the Netherlands a month or so ago. Its got the name and the hole and Eagle transfer, kriegsmarine I think? Just would like to know. Clearly it didn't initially come from Market Garden if you had it.

          Thanks

          Gareth
