Hello,


Does anyone know what the connection between the Flieger-Regiment 71 and the Grenadier-Regiment 726 is during the period August/September 1944?

I ask because i know of the Luftwaffe Officier who was awarded the IAB - Silver in september 1944. He was however clearely active at that time with the Flieger-Regiment 71.

Could they have been cooperating in the retreat from the South of France after the allied landings on 15.08.1944?

my Grandfather Helmut Friese, Rank Leutnant, Stab II. Bataillon Flieger-Regiment 71 took part at the retreat from France, Carcassonne, over Montelimar, Lyon. Take a look at my thread!
