    He was born in a town called Waldheim. I can't say for certain but he was probably German, not Austrian. Wounds saved him from Stalingrad: on 11 January 1943, a mortar round landed nearby and he suffered 23 puncture wounds. He was flown out from Pitomnik on 15 January 1943. He died in Aachen (Germany) in 1986.

      I apologize to the topic starter. I ask for help from the community, what unit possesses this tactical symbol from 14 Pz.Div (in 1942)?
      Thanks!

        Thanks to some good research by Jason, he has an update;

        "An officer and company commander from the battalion is still alive (96 years old!) – he knew von Lossow well – so I had a German friend send him some pics of the pennant for comment. This is what my German friend said:

        "He said that it certainly is NOT the Standard of von Lossow or of the Panzerjägerabteilung, he never saw such a standard. He can just recall the usuall divisional standard "red/white/red" (austrian colours). He said the letters V.T. are curious, maybe Veterinär or so?"

        Any further ideas?
