Researching German reports from 2nd SS PZD and 17th SS PGD

    Hello

Is there an archive that has after action reports for German units? I am looking for detailed information on the actions of these units during Operation Luttich around Mortain France in August of 1944. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Read the pinned thead at the top of this forum 'Nara guides online'
The records of DR you'll find on guide 75 and GvB on 79.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Here are three books with the second two having extensive source notes and bibliographies:

Use these sources for further reading as well as what you find in the "Broader Subject" suggestions listed to the left of the titles.

Doing the above should open the door to hundreds of sources and tell you where to find them. There are also several dozen FMS manuscripts written by German participants immediately after the war that cover the subject.

The above suggestions are based on the assumption that you do not read German. If you do, then there are plenty of German language sources that you can use.
