Need Help to ID Markings

A friend of mine picked up a engraved German Bayonet can anyone ID the markings on the blade.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Jay Parisi

Very old infantry regt, cant say how old the bayo is, youll have to figure that out yourself, look for it below, sorry double post.

2nd nassauisches infanterie regiment no 88, they were an early german regt, from waterloo to,franco prussian and also fought in many pivotal ww1 battles , look for it here

by searching online for:2nd Nassau Infantry Regiment No. 88 Too much to post here for all the information available, this attached wikipedia link will describe how it got its name.
