Oblt. Ernst Muller ex-KG88 & KG40

Can anybody please help me with details on Oblt.Ernst Muller .
From September 1938 to February 1939 he served with 4.Staffel KG88 "Legion Condor" . In early 1940 he was posted to 1.Gruppe KG40 and transfered to Bordeaux . He crash landed off the south coast of Ireland on 16.4.1941 while flying FW200 F8+GL , the Condor was damaged by AA fire after they attacked a convoy . Oblt. Muller and all his crew survived and were interned in Ireland until the war was over .

The only thing I can find at the moment is according to the book "The Fw200 Condor" by Jerry Scutts:

On 18 April 1942 another Condor crew, that of Oblt. Ernst Muller, were forced to take to their dinghies when their Fw 200C-3 (0053/F8+GL) of III/KG 40 came under AA fire from convoy escorts and ditched off Schull, County Cork. Muller and all six of his crewmen were rescued by an Irish vessel.

Could be a mistake in Jerry's book as he refers to III/KG 40 but later on page 223 he refers to 3/KG 40.

Ditched off Schull Island, 12:15 hours. Crew landed by boat in Eire and interned.

Thanks for your help Ian , I have contact with Oblt.Ernst Muller's family who have been very helpful , I was hoping to find out a little more about him .
He crash landed into the sea about 60 miles from where I live , thankfully none of the crew were hurt and they stayed in Ireland until the war was over and then returned to Germany with the other Luftwaffe and Naval personnel who were interned here .
