    Heeresabnahmestelle 691 Zella-Mehlis Mercedes Staffcar

I have a Mercedes Benz 320 Pullmann Cabriolet F built in 1941, ordered by Oberkommando des Heeres in Berlin and delivered to Ulm 20 okt 1941.
On the aluminium ID plate of the car is stamped a Reichsadler with swastika and the WaA number 691 what means Heeresabnahmestelle 691 at the Mercedes Buromachinen and Waffenwerke AG in Zella-Mehlis.
Does anyone know anything about this Heeresabnahmestelle 691, the car was there, according to Militarhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr Dresden, for a special equipment and probably is a staff car for a high ranking Officer of the German Wehrmacht.
Normaly stamped by Heeresabnahmestellen are Karabiner, PAK or Military Vehicles. Allthough the 320 F cabrio is a military ordered car it remaines a question why it was ordered by Berlin, delivered to Ulm and then went to Zella-Mehlis for a military modification.
Next the car went to Russia at the end of 1941 and stayed there till the fall of the Berlin Wall. I'm trying to find out the history of the car and the last known place the car was, before going to Russia, is Zella-Mehlis.
    Thankfull for any suggestion.

      Mercedes-Benz 320 Cabriolet F

Hello Theodor, here is the thread about the Heereswaffenamt.

This is the link to ebay about the history from the General, the number is not the proof that the car was from this General, it is only the number of the place of the Heereswaffenamtstelle!!
