My father and several of his men surrendered to the British Troops. He received his discharge from the "UK Discharge Center". Does anyone know if there are records held by the UK on individual soldiers, since I'm sure they were all interogatted before discharge? If so, were would one write for records?

I can't speak for other discharge or screening centers, but i have gone through a lot of records of the British units in Norway during the summer of '45 who were responsible for screening and investigating German troops and i know that there are no records remaining from individual soldiers. In fact from most units, there's virtually nothing left. The only exceptions are the war crimes investigation cases.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

The only reason I asked if anyone knew of were the records were kept, or what happened to them, was that some of the info on others, especially Luftwaffe which are the hardest records to get. Was that a Luftwaffe ground pounder, the information I sought, was sought by a person in Berlin who got them off some British POW records, and discharge center for me. So some of the records were saved and turned back.
Your probable right, many were probable destroyed or lost with no interest at the time.
