Help please - tracking down info

    Hello to everyone!

I am a newbie to these forums, but i hope to find some help!

I am trying to track down information on my late Grandfather. I know very little about his military history but wish to find out more.

His name was Karl Heinz Neumann, DOB- 18.10.1924.

All i know was that he served on a Schnellboot in WW2. I know for definate that he was captured by an American vessel and that when he climbed up the rope ladders to enter the vessel he sustained injuries when the Americans smashed him with baseball bats and he fell back into the sea. I dont know whether his vessel was sunk or just captured. However he survived this and spent time in a POW camp in the UK (possibly in surrey as i have found a possible naturalisation document for a Karl Neumann).

I would dearly love to know which boat he was on and which boat he was captured on and really any other info i can about his military career and subsequent POW experience.

I have looked on http://www.uboatarchive.net/ but found nothing.........

any help of where to look or what to do would be very much appreciated
