      Hi Luca,

In it's existance it belonged to:

      (Mobilisation-1.1.1940) 8. Batterie Artillerie-Regiment 206,
      (2.1.1940-27.4.1940) cancelled and became Fp.Nr. 11417 C
      (28.4.1940-14.9.1940) Frontoberbauleitung Düren (Organisation Todt),
(1.2.1941-11.7.1941) Organisation Todt Oberbauleitung Mitte (Einsatzstab Westküste) then Organisation Todt Oberbauleitung Mitte Lorient,
(25.1.1943-31.7.1943) OT-Oberbauleitung Mitte Lorient u. SS Verbindungsführer Einsatz Atlantikküste in Vannes
      Cancelled 21.9.1944.

Can you show an image of the helmet in the following thread?

The B.A.B. does not sound correct!

Not sure....you yourself on the other thread say that you do not think it is the same forename!

This helmet is a M35 DD....the owner would have put in his name and first unit in I would have thought....unless it was reissued!
A reissued helmet would perhaps have had the decals painted over.....and would be difficult to prove if it has been reissued.

Also if the FP Nr. is correct then it depends when it was written inside the helmet! As we can see in 1940 it belonged to an Artillerie Regiment!

Now lets say the name is correct....this is a Heer helmet, SS did not wear army helmets or at least with Heer decals! Org.Todt to my knowledge had their own also! If it was a M35 DD standing around for someone to wear in 1944 in Lorient then he wouldn't put his name in it!?!?!

I would like to see the scan of his name and FP Nr. before I cans be possitive but there are too many unanswered questions at the moment

            Regards, Ian

there are many questions but also many pieces that matches..don't you think??
              Thanks for your help Ian!
