Would I be correct in assuming that Tiger 321 was attached to Pz. Abt. 505, any help greatly appreciated I have a period photo of the tank in question.

321 stands for tank No. 1, 2nd Zug (platoon) from the 3rd kompanie. I hope this answers your question This 'tactical" number doesn't tell anything about which unit it is in.
