I was hoping that someone could help me with the writing on the bottom of this gas canister please? Is it the soldiers name? Any help would be most appreciated. thanks, John

I appreciate all of your help on this one. So it is in German language with a French name? If it is a Josef Sendune could he have served in the Wallonie or Charlemagne Legion being French? How can I find out more? thanks, John

At first you should be sure to have really identified the exact name. Even French names could have been from soldiers serving in the German army so as you say also as Wallonie or French Legion soldiers or only German family names depending from Huguenots who came from France to live in Germany long time ago.

Yes, I agree with you totally. Well what do you folks think about the name, Josef Sendune a Frenchman (Wallonie?) serving in the German Army? I would like to get other opinions about the name anyone else? If this is the name how could I find out more about his soldier or his unit he served with? Thanks, John
