    Walter Scheunemann

    Hi

I was wondering of anyone would have any information on Walter Scheunemann, Knight's Cross + oakleaves. I wanted to know what actions he received the two awards for. I have read the article about him in Lexicon der Wehrmacht but I wanted to know a bit more about him. In some references he is a Hauptmann when he receives the oakleaves and others quote him as a Major, which is correct. He is also listed as attaining the rank of a Generalleutnant later on. Is this correct?

    thanks

Here are a few more information on him, also when/why he did receive the awards.

It seems that he never was a Generalleutnant - only a Oberst.

      Thanks Gerdan,

His rank is a puzzle because apparently in the book,

Der Weg der 93. Infanterie-Division - Hrsg. Kameradschaft der ehem. Ang. der 93.Inf.Div.,1956

      He is listed a GenLt.

But thanks for the information supplied.
