The Finnisches Freiwilligen Bataillon der Waffen-SS became the III.(finnisches)/Nordland by order of the SS-Führungshauptamt on May 23, 1942, and was then a component attached to "Wiking."

As I am looking for information on a single soldier but I am trying to find out what parts the 9th Kompanie, SS "Finn" Nordland was composed by and where they where stationed and what battles they fought.

Reason for asking is that I like to help a friend find info on his dads miilitary service during the war.

Hi,

There are books about Finnish SS-volunteers. One book I can mention is "Dritte Nordland" by Olli Wikberg. Book has lot of photos and history of a unit. It is bilingual, finnish and english.
