Any Ideas--Do-26 Crew of 02 Apr 41 from Travemuende

Does anyone think there is a method to determine who the crewmembers of the mission described below were?

Qutote: “In order to protect Ship 16’s break-through a Do-26 of the Transocean squadron took off from Travemuende on special reconnaissance. The flight lasted more than 18 hours, as far as roughly 65˚ N, but no vessels were sighted apart from some neutral merchantmen at about 62˚ 30’N. No reports from Ship 16 so it can be assumed that she is proceeding as planned.”

From: War Diary of the German Naval Staff (Operations Division), Part A, April 1940, Volume 8, Page 14, 02 April 1940.

    Thanks

    Joe

        Hi Joe,

I think that the only chance would be a log book of involved crewmember. I can only add the takeoff and landing time: 02.18-20.38 hrs. There is no war diary for this day.

        Regards

        Robert

Wow! Thanks Robert. The times provide a nice frame of reference.

A pity as the aircraft will have been used in Norway a few weeks later for ferrying supplies up to Dietl's troops at Narvik, and we stand a better chance of getting names from that operation if we knew which aircraft was used.

                Hi Jan,
what is the exact date. Beginning of April Gefreiter d. Res. Rudolf Mayr made a reconnaissance
flight with D0 26 over Nothern Atlantic. He mentioed 20 hours. He mentioned ships, ships, ships. This seem to be the invasion ships for occupation of Norway.
What exactly you ar looking vor? I have the book E-Stelle See ( Travemünde und Tarnewitz Part 2.

Hi Jan. I overlloked the headline 02. April. 1940. In the book is only mentioned that they met him a few days before 10th of April, but his remark more than 20 hours seems to be corcect.
Unfortunately in the book there are shown other flights in the start book from the Erprobungsstelle der Luftwaffe Travemünde. I am looking myself for thr book, because my father was with Do-24 in Narvik, most probably on the first flight 12.April 1940 on TJ+HR as 1 of 2 machine gunner, however not mentioned as the crew names.

                    Hi Jan.

The Date seems to be 7th April, 1940 and the mentioned ship 16 the Atlantis.
There were 3 Do-26 P5+AH, P5+BH und P5+CH at Transozean-Staffel. At 7. April 1940 was the first raid, to kook for the Hilfskreuzer Schiff 16 Atlantis .
