Heer transfer to SS

How long did you have to serve in the Heer/Luftwaffe ect before you could transfer to the SS, or could you do it immediately? I’m conducting research on a relative of mine and the answer of this question could help.

As the W-SS received large draughts of personnel from all three of the other services, the answer must be none.

Ok thanks. I got my relatives records from the DD WASt and it has his training unit 3. Krad Ersatz Bataillon but there’s no enlistment date or date when he was in the training unit. The next thing it shows is him being in 4. SS Regiment Langemark,(Das Reich Division) in Normandy in September 1942. I’ve been attempting to figure out when he may have enlisted. He had a story about him lying about his age to enlist, so I’ve been attempting to confirm this or not.
