Searching for Records of a Parteigenosse

I am buying a NSDAP Members book and would like to do further research on him. Would the NARA be my best bet to gain access to his records? He had a 6 digit Party Number and was a SA NCO in the 1930's. Any help or pointers on this would be appreciated. Thank you!
