    Sanitäter Uffz. ID needed

    Hello to all,

I don't post often in this section of the forum but I really need some help here...
I got this 'rememberance-shield' and would like to know were and in which unit Uffz. Kreutle served?

Is it possible that Johannes Kreutle died (september 45 ?) while being a POW in Weingarten? Where there any POW-camps situated in that area?

The plate is made from metal and you can clearly see traces of were it was attached to something at one time.

Thanks in advance for your help

ps : Before someone gets upset, I would like to add that this shield was obtained from a german antique-seller and that it is in no way the result of grave-robbing or an other disrespectfull job. I fully believe the seller, who stated that it came from a house-cleaning.
Also, based on the rather good quality, this is IMO not a battlefield-'find'.

    Kind regards

    Jan

          Hi Jan,

I checked the German War-Graves site and he is not mentioned there....perhaps you could contact the Deutsches Dienststelle.
