    KC Winner - Hans Meyer

    Hello all.

I'm hoping to get opinions on the likely awards the following KC winner (Hans Meyer) would have been entitled to. I have found reference to his service and a list of awards - but I have no way of knowing if this list is complete:

    - Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse

    - Eisernes Kreuz I. Klasse

    - Flak-Kampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe

    - Ritterkreuz zum Eisernen Kreuz

The following link has the best information, and I have copied below the (rather poor) translation courtesy of Google.

Oblt. Meyer seems to be a bit of a mystery, and apart from his KC surfacing a few years ago I cannot find any additional info or photos of the man.

Any thoughts on his awards or any additional info on Oblt. Meyer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Matt.

      Hi Phil

I have seen that reference before but I think it is a different Hans Meyer

      "DKiG : 12.07.1943, Wachtmeister, 6./Flak-Rgt. 241 (per Scherzer, LW DKiG 1992)".

At the very least the rank of Wachtmeister doesn't seem to line up with his career as my man was already commissioned as an officer by then:

      Leutnant 22.11.1940
      Oberleutnant 01.04.1942

Please correct me if I am wrong (and thanks for the input!)

      Cheers,

      Matt.

Fellgiebel refers to him as Meyer zur Heyde, Hans.

Perhaps more information is available under that name.
