        the dates in brackets mean when that FP was taken into use by that unit or that name of that unit.

        in this case it was from 3.3.1944..or rather from 12.11.1943 as it's the same unit, just a name change in 44.
        Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

          And in this case, the d indicates that the number ist from the 3rd coy/column* (See the P.S.) of the SS-Wirtschafts-Bataillon 17 (G.v.B.).

          Just a P.S..
          In the SS Wirtschafts Bataillon 17 there were these units:
          SS-Hauptkasse 17
          SS-Schlächterei-Kompanie-17
          SS-Bäckerei-Kompanie 17
          SS-Verwaltungs-Kompanie 17
          That means, that the d after the FP number is not from a coy, but from one of these units.

          P.P.S.: GvB = Götz von Berlichingen, the knight with the iron fist and the the well known quotation.
