photo with Jochen PEIPER and ? and Sepp Dietrich

    Hi,

is this Sturmbannführer Jochen Peiper? Did he had the "alte Kämpfer" Winkel at the right sleeve?

    Thanks for comments.

    Cheers
    Udo

Hi Udo,Sorry, no it isn't Peiper and Peiper would not have wearing the alte Kampfer chevron.
    regards, Alan

You probably already know that the man on the other side of Dietrich is RKT Rudolf Lehmann.

          ah, nice hint, John.

So this pic shows probably the Stab of LAH 1941 in Russia, because it is written on backside "Sepp Dietrich, Rollbahn Nord", and Dietrich wears his KC without oaks.
Lehmann was officer in the Stab, before he got wounded in August 1941.

          Cheers

Yes, I'd say August 1941 approx.

Sepp is probably wearing his KC on his converted EK2 ribbon now in my collection!

Good point! Moreover, Peiper would have been a Hauptsturmfuehrer at
the time and the officer pictured seems to hold the rank of a Sturmbann-
                fuehrer.

There will be a series of good photos showing Peiper in the divisional staff
in the summer of 1941 in Danny Parker's new Peiper biography hopefully
                being published next year.

                Cheers,
                Markus

That's a very nice photo of Dietrich's Stab.

L> R... they are in (IMO) Sturmbannfuhrer Ewert (Ib) ,? , Lehmann, Hauptsturmfuhrer Maas (Ic), Dietrich, Sturmbannfuhrer Kielhaus (Ia)

                  Untersturmfuhrer Hartel (03)

                  Thanks for posting it Udo

Hm, I wouldn't say the Sturmbannfuehrer is Willy Keilhaus.

I'd rather suggest he's Sturmbannfhr Dr. Alfred Blubau, the
                    Leibstandarte IVa at the time.
