Information on Gebirgs Lt dR Däntl

Does anyone have any information on a Leutnant dR Däntl who was in a Jäger or Gebirgs unit in July 1937? The unit was probably located around Munich. That's all I have - any help is much appreciated!

Probably no use whatsoever but he isn't listed in the 1944/45 Rangeliste so wasn't a Major or higher then.

Thanks, Hucks. He wasn't in the Gräbersuche either that I could find. Here's the name tag for what it's worth:

It is curious but in the recent German phone book there are listed only 2 persons named Däntl, one in München/Munich the other without address.

Simon and Gerdan - thanks for the info. It's not a very common name, it seems.

Thank you, Mike. Explains why he never made the Rangliste...

I assume the card refers to schwere Ski Btl.1, a very interesting and unique formation that was i suppose what you might call the panzer battalion of the gebirgstruppe as it included a company of some 20 odd captured T-34.

Here's the OOB of the 1. Skijäger Division as of June 1944 - looks like Däntl may have been in a regular Skijäger Batallion in the 1st or 2nd Regiment:

                      Order of battle
                      1. Skijäger Regiment
                      1. Skijäger Battalion
                      2. Skijäger Battalion
                      3. Skijäger Battalion (added Dec 1944)
                      13. Support Company (mot)
                      15. Ski-Pioneer Company
                      2. Skijäger Regiment
                      1. Skijäger Battalion
                      2. Skijäger Battalion
                      3. Skijäger Battalion (added Dec 1944)
                      Support Company (mot)
                      Ski-Pioneer Company
                      1. Ski Füsilier Battalion
                      152. Panzerjäger Battalion (previously Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 270)
                      1. Heavy Ski-Battalion
                      152. Artillery Regiment
                      1/152. Artillery Regiment
                      18. Heavy Mortar Battalion
                      3/152. Artillery Regiment
                      4/152. Artillery Regiment
                      85. Ski-Pioneer Battalion
                      152. Ski Signal Troops
                      Ski Feldersatz Battalion
                      152. Supply Train
                      Service Troops

Does anyone have any idea what unit Däntl may have served in previous to his last assignment?

Don, that's some sort of horrible anglicising of the OOB.

A battalion in either regiment would be referred to like this:

                        II./Skijäger Regiment 1

                        I./Skijäger Regiment 2

There was only one Ski Bataillon 1 and it was the schwere (heavy) battalion.
