    Help needed with Luftwaffe Unit markings

    Can anybody identify the following unit marking?:

    The bootlid also bears a luftwaffe registration plate and Luftwaffe communications section markings.

    Both JG 5 and JG 53 used this same shaped "shield", but with a varying center design. Unsure what this one is.

      I found one period photograph on the web showing a similar circular marking on one fender and what appears to be a dog shaped marking on the other:
