US Vs German KIA ratio in Europe

Hi guys, I wanted to know what the casualty ratio was between German troops and US troops fighting each other during WW2? Specifically the European theate, Normandy, Bulge etc.
How many US were KIA fighting the Germans and vice versa.
Also, are there any good German memoirs out there which describe the Battle at Carentan 1944?
I saw the Band of Brothers Carentan episode and am curious to see the German side of the story.
When they faced each other in Normandy, how many Germans were killed and how many US?
    Thanks

Also, I was surprised that in the Band of Borthers during the Carentan episode, German armour is surprised by Sherman tanks and defeated. How is it that the Sherman tanks were able to surprise the German armour so thoroughly that they were right behind them and blew them right out from underneath them? I know a lot of you in this forum mentioned that the Band of Brothers series is based on truth and historical facts, but I am surprised at so many of the scenes of battles, where the Germans are killed in droves, while Easy company sustains much fewer casualties.
For instance, in the Carentan battle scenes, Easy company is able to machine gun down numerous Germans so easily. And these were elite WSS and Fallschirmjager!

I'll give you some food for thought...

It's a good question, TWP. Two general scenarios I always wondered about were what would have happened in Normandy without the massive Allied air superiority, and how would Allied soldiers have fared facing the Russians on the Eastern Front in the same situations as the Germans found themselves in, i.e. Stalingrad, Kursk, etc. Think about it....

Yeah Jessee I agree. I also think about how the allies would have fared against the Germans if they had done the same long hard slog the Germans had faced for years and then faced the Germans. The Germans were exhausted by the time they faced the US.
Not only that but it seems to me that with allied numerical superiority in terms of just Infantry ground rifle troops, the allies were in a much better position to take advantage of the German foot soldiers. Let me put it this way. If you got into a fight with 3 guys, the chances are not much will happen to the 3 guys fighting you, but you will become a casualty quite easily. This will allow the 3 guys to remain intact and go off to fight another single individual with the same results.
The end result is that numerical superiority allows for better chances of survival and less chance for it among a numerically inferior adversary.
Does this make sense in terms of all those scens in Band of Brothers etc where the Germans get killed like flies?
