    Breslau 1945

I got a question about the city Breslau in 1945..
What happend with the Police forces in the city?
Mobilized as defence force like most other branches?
I´ve seen pictures of railroad employees being armed and used as soldiers.
But what about the local Polizei?

I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

      Thanks
Yes ofcourse, i bought a Breslau SS-Polizei soldbuch.
It was issued to an old man in 22 December 1944, and on the pictures from the seller i was able to see at least a 10 january 1945 entry in Breslau.
His rank was Polizei-Obersekretär, i think thats an higher rank?
He had quite a few medals (7 total) but all are from before wwii.
When i get it, i´ll show you.

Do you got any more info?
When was this 1 SS FESTUNG REGIMENT 'BESSLEIN' created?

I don't think that he was KIA, but not 100% sure yet.
Its a SS model soldbuch (but de-nazified, so SS removed on cover and inside).
This is my first SS model soldbuch.. did the Polizei (after they got under command of Himmler) used the same soldbuch as the Waffen-SS ?

Waffen SS soldbuch is a bit different as SS polizei soldbuch.

I did some searching after i posted my previous message.. and saw the differences.

I paid for it, seller needs to put it on the mail. Can't wait till i get it
Hopefully i can find entries in the Soldbuch which places him in Breslau during the siege.
