Oberst Hartwig Pohlmann

Here is a new Wehrpass, I have a raft of documents that detail his wartime career, sadly nothing on his WW1 apart from his Wehrpass, His father was a PLM winner and he served in the Bundeswehr in the 1960s

The questions I have are as follows;

Is this the same "Pohlmann" who wrote "Geschichte der 96. Infanterie-Division 1939 - 1945"

What happened to him post "festung Gironde"

I am surprised he did not receive any higher promotion or awards.......any information on this would be great.

His Soldbuch, original photographs, medals etc must be out there if anyone knows of there where abouts,

New information, Looks like he was put in for a German Cross in Gold......shame he never got it.....also a couple of books he wrote
