Is there anyone who could give me more information on where the following unit did serve ? :

3./Pz.Jäg.Abt.30

My main interest go's out for the year 1942

1942:

January/February, X Korps, 16 Armee, Hgr. Nord, Ilmensee
March/December, II Korps, 16 Armee, Hgr. Nord, Demjansk

No doubt looking for a possible Cholm connection Stijn?

You are 100 % correct and in a few weeks i can proove that at least some members of that unit where in the Cholmpocket

If you need other information about the 30 Inf. Division, perhaps I can be of help. I have the book from Breithaupt: "Die geschichte der 30 inf. division".

Breithaupt says that part of Pz.Jg.Abt.30 was subordinated to Gruppe Becker, which was just outside of Demjansk pocket. The main part of the division (including the main body of Pz.Jg.Abt.30 I believe) was inside the pocket.

If you by chance find men from the Abteilung in Cholm, it is news to me.

Thank you for the information so far => I am certain that at least one soldier from the : 3./Pz.Jäg.Abt. 30 was inside the pocket and received the Cholmshield .
