I posted this one in the Imperial forum but I have been asked to post it here as well to see if we can get an answer.
I know that the 73rd Fusilier Regiment and the 10th Jager Battalion wore this honorary title, both Hannoverian units. Did these units form part of the Wehrmacht?
I understand that Wehrmacht units were not allowed to wear orders of an enemy power, this one in particular was bestowed by the British for the service in Gibraltar of these units during the siege of 1779-1783. But do these units still exist in any shape or form in the modern German Army and if they do were any Kaiser era titles or awards authorised by the BundesWehr?
Thanks
Jonathan
