Obersturmbannfuhrer Ostendorff photo???

    Obersturmbannfuhrer Ostendorff photo???

    Here is a photo of a SS officer during the early stages of the Soviet Invasion. This pic is part of a photo group of Das Reich in Russia, 1941/42. The original photo is a small snapshot, so I can't enlarge it any more without making the pic blurred. I have studied a few pics of SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer Werner Ostendorff during the early days of the war in the east, and the profile of this SS officer looks like him. I would appreciate any input from other forum members as to the possible ID of this officer. Sorry that it's such a small pic, but it's the only one with him in it. Thank you!

    possible, hard to tell.

    I've published a dozen or more photos of him throughout his career from early DLV/Luft period to Oberführer in various books.

        Thanks for your input, guys!!! I know that it was a long shot when I posted this thread, as the enlarged pic is a bit blurry. The original photo is much more clear, and under a magnifying glass, it sure looks like Ostendorff to me. I found a pic of him in an old reference book, Die Waffen SS, and his profile + the way that he wears his overseas cap, made me think that it might be him. The photo group also includes a couple pics of Hauptsturmfuhrer Klingenberg (larger & much more clear than this pic). The photos were taken between 1941-42, by a member of the Kradschutzen Btl. of the SS-Das Reich Div. I'll research the other photos soon, and maybe I can find a better pic of this officer.
