I have just done a trade with a fellow forum member and amongst the trade items were pictures of the fellow I have a question about.
This photograph shows Eugen Flad as an Offizieranwaerter, or officer candidate. Although this enhanced photo does not show the shoulder board cyphers very well the first numeral is definately a 9. I can't tell for sure what the other number is. Perhaps one of you researchers can figure out which unit he may have been assigned to later in the war (which this picture should date from).
Flad was a DKiG winner as of Jan. 1, 1945 and is said to have been part of an 8.8 FLAK Erdekampf unit.
I went onto "Die Lexikon der Wehrmacht" and tried to figure it out but had no real luck.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chuck
