    help with KIA soldier

Hello everyone, I was hoping somebody could give me some info( or where to start looking) on a soldier that was KIA in Italy. I have a co-worker who's grandfather was a german soldier that was KIA in what he thinks was Italy in 1944. Because of family members no longer here and coming to the US he only know the last name of his grandfather...Alles. He does have a picture of him and his visor cap which has green piping on it. He thought his grandfather was an officer so maybe some information in any of the rankslists exist? Any help would really be appreciated by my friend at work.

    thanks in advance

20 soldiers with last name "Alles" were KIA in 1944 - so we need more info, e.g. his first name, and / or date of birth.

Of the 20 are 2 listed as KIA in italy, one born 1902, the other one born 1925.

Could you post that foto? Might help, too.

Gran Sasso, thanks again for the help.. I just saw your location in Bavaria. My friend is originally from Bamburg I believe. He lived there until about the age of 18 then his mother and US GI husband moved to the states.

            thanks again!
